Not all barcodes are the same. There are multiple types used for different purposes.

EAN-13 (Most Common for Products)

Consists of 13 digits; the first three represent the country code. This is the type Made Where uses.

UPC-A (Common in North America)

Consists of 12 digits, the standard American system.

QR Code

The square code containing much more information than traditional barcodes.
